Inspiration for this song came to me as I was thinking about my wife. She has suffered so much, and every day is a challenge for her. Getting dressed; walking, eating, talking, and many of the things you and I take for granted are a real chore for her. Every day that she is with us is truly a miracle of God’s grace.
“I’ll shine through your night, and it will be alright” speaks to nights when I prayed on her behalf. When she was having a bad night, I would ask the LORD to watch over her and give her relief to whatever she was suffering from. I placed her in the LORD’s care, in other words.
In spite of all her trials, she is able to rise every day and brighten all those around her. Her pleasant disposition and her radiant smile are seriously contagious. I am always hounding her to take it easy, slow down, and get plenty of rest, so she can rise, and shine for another day!
